01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

Question, and I’m sure this is very redundant. I understand that prior flight experience holds so much weight to selection board, and you are trained the Navy way. I obtained an instrument rating at about 100 total flight hours. I was granted approval at my part 141 flight program to complete this before the time building courses. From what I understand, this is a rapid time to gain an instrument rating. I tried to highlight that in my statement on my application to demonstrate the ability to gain flight skill quickly. Does anyone here have insight as to if Navy boards take things such as that into account versus the ratings themselves? Thanks much

Applicants are looked at very briefly by the board. They do not read LORs or your personal statement.

Wouldn't count on it. My office has been telling applicants who submitted after May that I-SEL packets are supposedly being reviewed only once the OCM has a certain amount and it might take a while. I would assume a conversative estimate and expect to hear back sometime closer to the next board convening. Ask your recruiter to check your packet status and see if it still says it's with the OCM or if it's at the pro-board.
My recruiter just got back to me and said my package says, "PM". I did get an email from NTAG Pittsburgh (Navy Officer Processing Lead) and they said,

"I just transmitted your Navy Aviation Officer Candidate [AOC (pilot)] application to selection board clerk at Navy Recruiting Command."

Pretty sure that means your packet is still waiting to be reviewed.

I got the same confirmation when my paperwork was sent to the NRC for the board.
