01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

Update:

OCM has evidently finally finished their review, we’re on the last step where NRC finalizes everything before posting results.

Unfortunately, “expect results late this week / early next week” (for the third week in a row)

I’ve served 9 years for the Navy and still haven’t wrapped my head around how slow it operates.

Also @elariosa95 would you say there are folks that end up flying ospreys in every class lol, curious how it works since it’s not clean cut rotary vs fixed wing?
On the marine side, yeah plenty of people get picked for tilt rotor. Statistically, that’s what most marines fly

Navy tilt is a different story. When I selected last year, selections for Navy tilt had been closed off for a few months, and then they suddenly reopened. They’re fairly rare in that one will get it every few weeks or so, at least that’s what it looked like last year; by the time I left Whiting, I think only 2 or 3 people had selected Navy tilt, but those were also only people I knew, there could’ve been more that I just didn’t know

Thank you that’s great insight 🙏

Oof. I figured things could get weird after what happened with the March Board but that's unfortunate. What were the circumstances? Budget, not enough slots, or something else?
Just due to available spots for that designator, contrary to what people think spots won't go away due to budget issues, and since AD boards are run by those on AD even during shutdowns they have happened.

I wonder if they’ll try to get through publishing results before the three-day, or if they couldn’t care less
They don't care, and since civilians time off is different than military they can take of Friday and only get charged 1 day of leave.

While military run the boards the civilians do have a very important part in getting the results pushed out.

The standard answer recruiters have given for decades is "results will come out on Friday", in reality it is random, they have come out every day of the week, and often the results are ready to come out but NRC has to sign off and that "one guy" needs to be there to push "send" to get that email out.

In your experience, how long would you say the wait is between the OCM finishing their process and passing off the work to NRC, to NRC completing their final look?

Recruiter was told by OCM packages were finished in her office Monday/Tuesday this week and were passed to NRC. Would you guess this week, next week, or even further to get the results?
