Just because it shows open spots doesn't mean they don't have an excel sheet with people waiting to get inputted into CANTRAC.

Yes I received a class date. Something to consider is that when NRC schedules your OCS class, they aren't just considering OCS itself, they are also trying to line up your follow on schools so you aren't waiting in holding for months on end (SNA/SNFO aside). There may be a backup at the school house preventing you from shipping any earlier.

IP is facing backlog in the schoolhouse first “possible” (highly improbable) date I was told may be October, but I was told no clue, might be late FY27 early FY28

I'm up for orders next month.. I wonder if I just continue with normal PCS if its really going to take that long

I was as well, I reached out to my detailers and got them cancelled, but from amoquarm, it’s up to you whether you want to try to stay in place or not
 
So I was selected for IP this time around but was already shot down from IP due to the T5 TS Clearance pre-screening. I am a US born citizen and my father is a US citizen born in S. Korea and my mother is a US green card holder born in S. Korea. They are married and I have not spoken to my parents in over a year as they both could be deceased already. I have ZERO contact with them and have never even left the country once in my life BUT the Navy investigator has already "not recommended" me for a clearance. I am sad, disappointed and to be honest heart broken. It is what it is. It is crazy to think about considering I have no financial or emotional relations with my parents or any foreign countries. S. Korea being an ally of the US makes no difference I guess. My recruiter has tried escalating the situation through the chain of command for a waiver but was already denied within a span of 7 days.

Not sure what to do other then apply for SWO at this point considering Supply is insanely backed up. Either way, very disappointed and a bit disheartened but we move forward.

Yep. I'm pretty sad over it I'll be honest. As much as I want to stay calm and collected, it is very sad. My stats applying for IP were not very competitive either (in terms of GPA) and I had the chance to become an IP officer but due to my mother not being a citizen I had no chance apparently.

At this point, if SWO doesn't work out, I am going the Army OCS route.

The USN has specific numbers to commission each FY for each designator and they will hit those numbers. A delay in OCS won't be due to a backlog at a school you need to attend but due to the USN already having identified those to go to OCS and get commissioned in the designated FY.

If there is ever an issue with follow on schools you will just get "stashed" somewhere, this is a common practice.
