26JAN2026 IWC Board

I just got it to be more competitive for cw
Historically IWC picks very heavy on those with tech degrees (usually CW/IW/IP are about 90% tech picks and Intel is less), they don't really look at certificates as they are looking more at degree and GPA. If you were going for reserve then they would really be looking at certificates and the degree.

As a currently enlisted application, don't. You are 30 years old and married. Commissioning is generally not something you can do until your first command, and is up to COs discretion once you do check onboard.

If you have the qualifications and the desire to commission, wait the extra few months and go that route. Enlisting first will only add potentially years to your timeline, and the quality of life and job is drastically different.
Enlisted with a degree. I was 4 years in before my Commander would let me apply for OTS. I was finally selected at the 9 year mark for OCS. Unless you have good leadership that will let you apply right away it will be years after you join before you can apply. the plus side it all counts for retirement! Now i can retire as an O3 or push for O4 I get to choose not the Navy.

I understand that boards are a bit of a black box, but I'm curious if anyone has heard anything concrete from their recruiter regarding the timeline for this board. I'm sure many of us are anxious, and all I've heard is that I definitely will hear by June (LOL). Good luck everyone!

Do the results get OFFICIALLY posted anywhere? such as an NRC Instruction or posting on MyNavyHR?

My application for CW Immediate Select has been in since July, 17th 2025. Last update from my OR was the last board meeting(~Oct 17) in 2025, stating no updates with my application. I contacted my OR 2 weeks ago and haven't received a reply, can I just call/go into a different recruiting office and ask for any updates on my app?

Some missing details here. Did you complete paperwork in July? Did you get confirmation you’re at board, or not?

What exactly have you been doing to follow up? What exactly has the recruiter been saying to you?

All final paperwork were done on July 17th. Although my recruiter did not explicitly say I'm at the board, i did follow up Sep 2nd on if i should expect a rejection or acceptance that month, he replied 'I hope so'. So i would like to assume I'm there but at this point i don't know anymore.

I followed up again, when the board results were out for IWC, regarding any updates. Said he called and didn't have any updates for the boards. Followed up again this month, no response yet.

EDIT: I am texting him
