26JAN2026 IWC Board

For those with TIS Waivers, have you received notification of approval/adjudication yet? Just curious on how long it usually takes to hear back approved.

Even though this board is closed for intel, my OR said he submitted my package in case of a miracle. He also submitted me for IP (though I don't have a strong interest). Any idea if such miracles actually happen?
Stats:
Age 28
GPA 3.83 (double-major in two humanities from Ivy League college)
OAR 70

I have a TIS waiver for CW as my application still included CW and INTEL despite it not being on the board. I did receive approval of the waiver already.

If a designator is closed what they will often do is the program manager will reject it for that designator and it will never be sent to the board, or it will be held until a board for that designator is scheduled, it just depends on the directions the PM's have been given.

Not to burst bubbles on waivers but they are essentially rubber stamped, the fact it included Intel doesn't mean anything as NRC in nearly every case defers to the board on if they will actually accept the waiver or not. The boards are also limited in how many with waivers they accept, IWC has been one of those communities that in the past has been tough on TIS waivers due to past issues with their community health, so how far past the max TIS you have will be a factor.

If you’re able to apply for Immediate Selection for INTEL you will bypass the board being closed. Have you discussed anything like this with your Recruiter?

Unfortunately, neither of my degrees fall into the ISEL categories, though they're adjacent. From the program auth: "Possess a degree in international relations, political science, history, or studies directly related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics."

Ah that sucks. What will most likely happen next considering INTEL is closed is you won't be reviewed "At Board" until it opens up again (16 March 2026 I believe), and they wont look at you for IP until a decision regarding your INTEL application (Pro Rec Y/N).

You probably got a response already but I submitted a TIS waiver for IP and it took 3 weeks from the time I submitted. Probably would’ve taken a little less if it weren’t for the holiday period.

Anyone else hear from their OR that the March IWC board is closed for INTEL and that the next INTEL board won't be til June? I don't understand why the March board is closed, as on the spreadsheet it says it's for FY 27 quotas. Good luck everyone.

What FY the board is selecting for is just a guideline, just like the board dates.

There are already people slotted for FY 27 spots, some are BDCP, others just have an availability date that was in FY 27. Then you have the variable for ISEL and URL ISPP, those programs that will have some affect on what is and is not available for those who don't qualify for ISEL or URL ISPP.

My OR only mentioned INTEL (my primary interest).

Thanks for this. Bummer to hear, but I guess nobody ever said this'd be a quick process.

Tangential question and maybe not for this thread, but can anyone offer a rough notion of how difficult it is to transfer from IP to INTEL once in and what the timeline would look like assuming one wanted to do so ASAP? Thanks.

Alright my recruiter is on leave for a bit, please keep us updated if he says anything about the other designators or updates on intel, ty!

When anyone applies for a designator they should do so under the belief that the designator they are going into will most likely be the only designator they will be in. Yes people do sometimes get the opportunity to change designators but going into a designator in the hopes of moving to a designator can lead to disappointment, or as some infomercials will say "disappointment and future regret" :D
