Any Personnel Recovery/CSAR package will almost certainly be AF - and will be a combination of rotary wing and air refueling assets along with shooters/EW to protect the operation. (Opinion, mine)No, they can't go that far.
The ranges in the Pacific are really going to challenge traditional rotary and even tilt-rotor assets. Likewise, I doubt if we will have the assets available to assemble a full shooter/refuel/EW package for every aircraft that goes down.Any Personnel Recovery/CSAR package will almost certainly be AF - and will be a combination of rotary wing and air refueling assets along with shooters/EW to protect the operation. I still hold to my opinion it will have to be some type of rescue drone and the downed aircrew will have to climb aboard themselves.
What platform is launching/recovering that drone, and why isn’t that platform also imperiled?I still hold to my opinion it will have to be some type of rescue drone and the downed aircrew will have to climb aboard themselves
