15 SEP2025 SNA/SNFO BOARD

I got the call today...

From the office lady at the NTAG asking if I'm already commissioned or still interested in applying because she's about to put my application in the shredder 😭 (Probably some old outdated one since I've been at this process for about a year now)
 
I thought the military was generally unaffected by government shutdowns. Is it different for recruiting? Or is there some part of the recruitment process contingent on civilian agencies that will be affected? I’m just trying to figure out what we’re dealing with here.
 
To anyone worried I wouldn’t be too worried about it. The military still works even if the government shuts down. Military just doesn’t get paid until the government works through a budget. Someone correct me if I’m wrong
 
My recruiter said there’s a chance it could affect this board and the next one if it really does shutdown. The govvies civilians play a major role apparently.
