Hey Ignotti,Hey everybody. Just wanted to see how y'all were doing progress wise in preparation for October 26th.
How many miles are you running per week, and what kind of diet are you eating? Any tips on improving cardio that have helped you?
Are any of you studying your Appendix B knowledge?
For context I’m 23yo, 5’11”, 155lb, more on the skinny side.
I started running mid-June and have been putting in anywhere from 6-15 miles of running a week. Shoe type (I’m using and planning on bringing my asics novablast 5s) and variation in running strategy (length versus intervals) is what’s allowing me to gain some time on the run without harming my legs too much. Currently running the 1.5 mile at a consistent 13 min 7 seconds. Biggest advice is that your mind gives up before your legs do.
For die I am going purely off protein intake and calories since I’m active ever single day I’m more trying to make sure I’m getting enough protein for repair and calories for energy, rather than focused on completely clean eating.
I see you didn’t ask about push ups but I will still share what got me from 5 pushups a month ago to 35 right now. I wake up and do 3 sets of my max - 10, and repeat at the end of the day. Also counting 1-10 and resetting count to 1 removes the pressure of saying 20…30…etc in my head.
Appendix bravo knowledge looks like a lot but can be broken down to digestible bricks of knowledge. Call me old fashioned but I have went through 2 notebooks already simply writing the words over and over. Did this so far for the general orders of a sentry, mission of the navy, and currently working on code of conduct.
TL;DR
Break everything down into smaller processes and repeat them.
(PS. We got this, keep grinding friend)
