Good Afternoon!
Finally was able to find this thread. Been pulling my hair out over where to get information about the board.
Figured I might as well post my stats to get realistic about my chances here, only applying for IP this go around but considering applying for MCWO:
  • BS in Cybersecurity Management & Policy
  • 2.63 GPA (Approved Waiver)
  • 51 OAR
  • 10 Years of IT related experience
  • 8 years Enlisted as IT (Waiver Approved)
  • Last 5 year Evals: MP, NOB, EP(Transfer), EP, MP, P
  • Master Training Specialist

I am very hopeful and excited that I get the opportunity to join a group of people who have mentored me so far in my career. Good luck to all applicants!
Utilizing your IT experience and Navy cool vouchers to get some certifications and strengthen your MCWO package could be beneficial. Although I was told MCWO isn't accepting any waivers at this time by CDR Ball (MCWO OCM). I'm not sure if that's going to be the normal moving forward, though.

IWC is generally pretty hard on people with waivers, it wouldn't surprise me if MCWO keeps passing on people with waivers should they keep getting well qualified candidates that don't need waivers.

So you understand the process the waiver allows you to go to board, the board itself still has to accept the waiver, they also accept waivers in limited numbers.

The thing you have going for you is your enlisted experience in IT.

Just got some bad news for us civilian IP applicants. This board didn't end up reviewing street IP apps, so they've all been sent to the upcoming 11 AUG board instead 😭

Great insights, all! Don't want to tie you down with too many questions, but in your experience working with applicants, how far-reaching was that inclination to limit the number of waivers accepted? Did it apply to just waivers for criteria specifically outlined in the program authorization (GPA, OAR, TIS, etc.), or to any kind of waiver, full-stop? I’m thinking here more in terms of RE-Code waivers (which I know is pretty broad on its face, considering the number of different reasons folks might have separated from service). But if an applicant, say, submits a package with a RE-Code waiver because they separated a few weeks early to attend a civilian school (still honorably discharged), do you think the board would regard that waiver similarly to waivers for things like GPA, OAR score, etc.?

Asked my recruiter this morning and he said it was CW that isn’t getting looks. Is it possible your recruiter was referring to your application for ISEL?

No, I only submitted for IP this time. The email I received said IP specifically was not looked at as a last minute change.

Seems like it does but you'd have to check with your recruiter to confirm.

What do you mean?

Got a text and email from my recruiter this morning.
I was on the list for the June board. Does this mean that my application was considered, or it may still be pushed to August?
