I'm going for this one. Still need my interviews though.

I'm curious if anyone else is applying, what their experience was, how interviews went, etc?

I am applying this round, and finished my interviews. The interviews are pretty much what I saw from other posts, they typically asked me some general interview questions (why CEC, goals in life, what do I know about CEC) and let me know about their experiences. Each interview was different and I think a great learning experience.

Hello everyone. Thank you @Coffeeguy for starting this thread. I'm applying for this round as well and I just finished my interviews (All CEC reserve officers). They were pretty straightforward, introduce yourself, why do you want to join and your leadership. The rest was two way discussion, learning more about the CEC community, expectations and interviewer career. I have been blessed that all the CEC officers I met were simply amazing individuals. Even if I'm not selected I definitely expanded my professional network with the CEC officers I met and will remain in touch with them.

@Coffeeguy and @ZCGB001 Are you done with your packages? From my understanding they need to go through a processor for QA/QC for any correction/missing items before it is sent to the board. I also "heard" since the CEC community is so small decisions are usually made pretty quick within ~2 weeks on average.

I am, and my recruiter said they submitted it. Is that 2 weeks after the board meets? That would be really cool if it was that fast but I figured we hear in January

That is good to hear your package is in! Yes, usually within two weeks of board meeting (not official though). It would be really cool to hear back in December. Wishing you good luck!

I have my final interview this evening, and then after that I believe my package is complete. I would guess my recruiter would do any QA/QC before the submission deadline in two weeks.

My recruiter also indicated January as when I'd likely find out, and he's actually a CEC officer fwiw.

Curious about you guys' interview experience. I had what I thought was a "practice" interview with a lieutenant commander and he provided a lot of helpful feedback, but then my recruiter said that it would count as one of my three. I had thought interviews had to be O-5 and above, but reviewing the PA it says O-4 and above so just wondering what happened with others. Anybody have an interview with a somewhat colorful commander from Kentucky?

@ZCGB001 Thank you for sharing and hope the last interview went well. All my interviews were with 0-5 reserve CEC officers and apparently based on my location one of the 0-5 could end up being my CO if I'm selected. I did not interview with any CEC officer from Kentucky. The interview and flow were very relaxed and focus was on why I want to join, leadership, making sure I understand what I'm getting into "this is not one weekend/month or two weeks/year", work/life balance challenges, career progress, what I knew about the CEC etc.

Thanks for sharing as well. I did not have an interview with anyone from Kentucky, mine were spread out geographically though, and were very similar to Eknights write up! Good luck to everyone again!
