I am currently a AME1. Made first in a little under 5 years. Currently at 6, looking for all insight for building my package for the next AMDO board coming up. I recently graduated (GPA 3.6- BA- Legal Studies) and took my OAR (Score 49) and meet all the requirements and require no waivers. I appreciate all the help I can get!

Personally I would study and retake the OAR. Bump that up as much as possible. But you are looking good for GPA and TIS. How are your evals, interviews and LORs? No NJPs??
You’re also a fleet applicant, so your application due date is 31JAN25 rather than the 15FEB25 due date, that’s for NRC civilian applicants. The board convene date is 17MAR25. From what I understand AMDO is rather competitive, have you considered other routes for selection? You seem like you fit the criteria for immediate select for Supply or if you’re able to, for pilot or NFO. I’m not sure if you’ve taken the ASTB.
I only have one college math and supply requires 2. I scored high enough for NFO but not high enough for pilot on my ASTB. I have yet to interviews. Evals are great and no NJPs. I spoke with an OCS 1520 and they told me to LOR isn't really needed. He said my package is very competitive. I have been trying to write the CO endorsement and all the packages I have got they all seem to be very different and not sure exactly how I should write it.
AMDO is a tough one, right now they are looking towards the civilian sector but that’s not to say they won’t pick up priors. I’ve talked to quite a few higher up 1520s and this all common talk throughout every conversation. LORs are definitely highly recommended, it’ll at the very least show you’ve put some effort into your package and could possibly provide you with some leverage opposed to your competition. COs endorsement is supposed to highlight you and the things you’ve accomplished. I’ve heard you don’t have to fill it up just put in highlights of achievements and accomplishments. Look into what you can do to apply to other programs, when it’s all said and done if you want to become an officer you’ll want to look at several different avenues as opposed to only one.
For sure. I talked to our new 1520 and he was selected with in the last 2 years and he has been helping me. I really dont want to do SWO. I wouldnt mind supply. I only have a few shots with 1520. Going 1520 will be an easier transition just for the fact I do this every day. I haven't heard much about them selecting more civilians but if that true that sucks... I cant seem to find the SWO and supply requirments. Do you by chance have the link so I can review them. I cant find them on Mynavyhr and I am not currently at work with CAC login abilities.

AMDO is one of those designators that historically looks at everything, the LOR's need to be well written as in talking about how the person writing it has seen you perform. AMDO also historically really likes people that have done a tour at an I - level maintenance facility.
I am an AE1 and I’ve been in the navy for 10 years so I understand the transition to AMDO entirely but to me commissioning is more important personally. Also, to get to the Program Authorizations you go to mynavyhr>career management>career counseling>commissioning programs>program authorizations> then select the PA you’re interested in. You don’t need a CAC to do it, you can visit on any device.

Yeah, I'm an AM2 (less time than you AE1, I'm at 5), and AMDO is still what I want cause the transition will be a lot more easier, especially for maintenance personnel who have served in I-Level commands (which I have not, lol) but I have begun to see the pros and cons of each career field available to me, especially considering I'll need an education waiver.
If OP doesn't get picked up, I think trying for multiple designators would be the move, it isn't unheard of to see aviators lateral transfer into 15xx based on my research and discussions I've had.
I’d agree, however, from what I’ve heard you’re better off showing the board that what matters to you is becoming a Naval Officer, not only chasing one occupation, it’s ok to have your preference/favorite. If you apply for only one you’re showing them that you want to only get that job otherwise you don’t want to become an officer. This is only speculation like everything else about the boards, but I mean if it has a means to possibly increase your chances of selection than why not?

Not necessarily, some designators such as SWO, SNA and SNFO really don't care where they are in the priority list while others such as Supply, IWC, AMDO and other smaller designators do care, enough that often those put anything less than #1 have an uphill battle being selected.
