I don't think you read my post because I was saying that the criticisms of our military's "wokeness" are way oversimplified. I also would say your understanding of "wokeness" is wrong, because "wokeness" isn't about being open-minded towards different peoples, the criticism is that it's about adhering to a very rigid, specific way of thinking and anyone who dares deviate is declared a thought criminal and to be banished from society, or restricted at least (for example Twitter suspending the accounts of those who "mis-gender" people). But that is probably a different discussion altogether. For example, a "woke" position is that men who declare themselves to be "women" therefore should be able to play on women's sports teams. Thought criminals are those who say this is wrong and should not be allowed. The woke movement even has a term for the feminists who are against this: "TERF" (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist). The criticism is this kind of nuttiness is infiltrating into the military.
For example, the then Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus decided to do away with terms with the word "man" in them, such as corpsman. He also rejected a study by the Marine Corps that showed that all-male infantry units move faster and shoot with more accuracy than ones with women included:
LINK His criticism is that the Marines started from a biased start point, but then again, it is also kinda hard to see how the study could be all that wrong. Even the Israelis do not send integrated infantry units (i.e. with women I mean) into the hardcore combat areas, they send the all-male ones and have their integrated one handle more peaceful duties. Also, there is a HUGE difference between saying non-whites, gays, etc...shouldn't be able to serve versus taking it to the point of nuttiness and denying biological reality, and that is where the criticism comes from.
