Interview Tips/Advice

Sorry if there's already been a thread on this but I couldn't find any updated posts.

I've already done an interview with my Skipper (who I've flown with before) and an O-6 from another command that my LCPO got me in touch with so I'd have a few out-of-command, higher ranking Interviewers for my package. Man, I don't know how long it's been that I've done sit down, semi-formal interviews with someone I had never met but dear God, it feels like an awkward first date at times.
interviewer: "So, what sort of activities do you do in your off-duty time?"
Me who works overnights in maintenance with just enough time to do household chores, workout, and sleep before the next shift: ?

I still have a few more interviews left and I am definitely going to write out answers to potential questions to get better wording. For example, I was explaining struggling with science courses in university and then later on thought "shit, I should have mentioned how I've improved my technical knowledge from working on jets and getting my private pilot's license". Had way more of those moments that I would've liked.

Anyone have any tips or care to share your own interview experiences (good, bad, neutral)?

Don’t curse! I know this goes without saying but I know of lots of folks to break this rule. No matter how comfortable the interviewer makes you, just don’t let you’re guard down. Back when the airlines weren’t hiring I had a buddy that said MF during a Pfizer interview cause “the dude was cool and a Marine too”.

Honestly, relax and just have a conversation. If you get nervous or deer in the headlights just get with a friend/ significant other one on one and talk through you’re answers. If they can’t follow your answers or say you don’t sound genuine then adjust and reattack. Be yourself not who you think they want to be. AND ALWAYS DRESS THE PART.
