Set-up:
My girlfriend always jokes that the Navy isn't real (relax)
-you have to understand that she see's how much waiting/downtime I have and it truly is just a joke
But, I wrote these random thoughts the other night as motivation as an SNFO in primary...I keep them now as a background note on my computer as something to read for motivation to study.
I'm not posting them to glorify my reputation, just something for us all to keep in the back of my mind. Hopefully it helps.
my ramblings:
training might be hard,
but don't ever complain,
not because you love what you do,
but because they never said a word..
those who went before you,
you have a safe place to go home to,
because of them
remember that throughout your training
my favorite part of the flight,
is the salute you return to the lineman,
he respects the selfless risk you take,
and supports you as an officer in the USN
your instructor is harsh because
our business has no tolerance for errors,
show him the respect he deserves
we love what we do,
but often forget why we do it,
you are not here to re-live college
does it really matter what you fly?
you are lucky to be so blessed
train hard, protect your country,
your family, your friends
you are the first line of defense
train hard, party even harder,
life is too short...BUT
wear your crest proudly,
and conduct yourself like an officer
