Who Is Going To NSI In Feb?

Is anybody that was getting subpay, and is checked out still getting subpay? My nuke pay stopped right away, but the last two checks I still got subpay. I am thinking that I am not supposed to get that anymore. I would read that instruction, but it hurts my brain when I do.

All of your extra pays (ie subpay) should have stopped the day you checked out. Hold on to it and don't spend it. So I am driving up to Groton, CT in the morning. The weather looks horrible for the next few days so everyone should allow for plenty of time to drive.

I dont know if you get it for Newport or where you came from so I cant answer that one.

Do you know if that gets paid out with the rest of your travel claim or is that included in your bi-weekly pay?

(For the mods, I'm conducting this Q&A in the thread to allow anyone else with the same questions the chance to see the answers, thereby foregoing the need to repeat them!)

I spoke with the Sub Pay Coordinator over the phone and asked him about it when I was checking out with NSSF. The Sub Pay Coordinator told me that Sub Pay will not stop until the day that you actually begin school, not the day you check out.

Oh, and BOCOD, be careful driving into Groton - on I-95 the drivers can be pretty crazy. Also, the weather forecast for this place is snow as well - as in, I step outside my house and it's snowing. Right now. :D

Probably why its so quiet on here.

Old friend of mine just graduated OIS up there and said the wind-chill factor is ridiculous. I'm going to die, I'm so not acclimated.

Nope I'm flying... few more days of leave. I'm tempering myself to the cold here in the Midwest. It's -10 at midday. Newport should be nice compared to this.

I drove up to Groton yesterday. The drive wasn't bad. The roads were surprisingly good. All we ran into was rain. The drive from VA to CT was a little longer than I remember. I am just hitting up the casinos until Saturday when I take the wife to the airport. I am still trying to decide if I want to check in on Saturday or Sunday. I just need to find a place to crash on Saturday if I do wait till Sunday. For all those going to Charleston after NSI there will be a F-22 air show at the AFB on April 24.
