 OMG...DMSO?? Neeeever heard of the stuff..and uhhhhhhhh.... that really just scared me.

I ran again and it snapped a little bit...so, when I'm hearing this snapping sound is it pulling even more and eventually going to tear? I mean this is the 4th time I've heard the "snap" sound. Am I just awaiting the unevidable agonizing tear? I know when it does tear it will be a tight knot and more than likely it bruises? I saw my friends leg it didn't look too pretty once his finally ripped....is that the typical?

I'm not looking forward to that tear.:(

Why don't you take a couple months off and just let it heal?

How long from the last pull until now?

How many days of and what kind of treatment since then?

Before the initial pull, what exercises did you do for your legs?

Well, it feels fine....I don't have any pain in it...I can stretch with no problem or that weird overstraining sensation...so I think it's ready to go atleast to me it feels like it's ready (I've never pulled a muscle before even after playing fastpitch since 4 until college ball so I don't know recovery time or what it should feel like when it's ready again.) When I start back up and it snaps again. This time the snap didn't hurt though, usually I have a constant throbbing sensation and it hurts to walk or stretch out but this time it snapped and was sore to the touch but I could jog it out. I am just afraid that each snap is the hamstring slowly ripping...

It quite possibly could be. I think the first thing you must do is heed the Doc's advice. RICE - First step REST. Just because it's not sore doesn't mean damage hasn't been done. Have you been to see a doctor yet? STOP RUNNING.

it's been 12 days since my last pull and 26 days since my first double snap on the hammy. I've done stretching, massaging, at first for the pain I was taking hydrocodon until I could walk normally (basically 2 days one pill) I was heating it until I read you should ice it...so I had been icing it for 15 minutes for a little over a week. I did stretch before I jogged and like I said it felt fine to me to start back up. arrrgh, hamstrings suck.

You need to rest that leg more. And put more emphasis on hamstring strength....lunges, squats, etc....once you have rested it for at least 2-3weeks, if not more.
