It's pretty cool that the Army allowed something like that to go down. However...

70,000 lbs of thrust? Ok drag strip announcer guy.

70,000lbs of thrust? Lol, what spec sheet is he reading off of?

What exactly would the takeoff at around 4:45 be described as? I seem to recall reading about Mike Durant ripping out the tail-wheel attempting a similar maneuver.

It doesn't look too bad, just a bit expedited which was probably done to make the demo more interesting. The tailwheel broke the deck and he was in a low hover before he made his 180 pedal turn. No harm done and it looks like the patriotic fans enjoyed the show.

Of course if you try something like that and get it wrong, then dragging the tailwheel sideways might not end very well.

That's actually pretty cool. I've wanted to try that some time, not because I'd think I'd win, but to see how quick we actually accelerate relative to a car. I was doing it today with the Coast Guard, but it's not the same when you top out at 30-35 knots.

....I don't understand this. The jet even says 'Vigilantes'. Way to go, Brian.

Here is a question for the LSO's out there... does this guy seem unusually low or is it just the camera angle?
