I thought this was pretty cool. I didn't see it posted anywhere yet, so forgive me if I missed it somewhere on the forum.

Anyways, I didn't think there were that many Marine astronauts, but I guess this guy had the resume. Yut, Yut...Semper Fi, Devildog.

Look's like there's 17 total. Note - Wikipedia doesn't list the guy in the article above, although it appears that it is his first spaceflight.

I thought there were quite a few DevilDogs in space. 17 is pretty good representation for such a small aviation corps!

Col Buchil started off as a platoon commander in 9th Marines.

Col Cameron was a platoon commander in 5th Marines.

Both transitioned to the wing side of the house, and the rest is history.
