I heard about a mishap back in the 80s where an F-14 flew through some jet wash that flamed out its motors and caused it to go in to a flat spin. I think the NFO died trying to eject.

Several years later, a Tomcat got too close to a Bear and they bumped each other. No word on the Bear, but the Tomcat lost hydraulics and crashed on landing at the boat.

Also, they were headed out to sea... in the flat spin.
