  • Working out . . . well, that worked well until I goofed a deadlift last week and mildly tweaked my back like a damned klutz. Now I get to just run, take Motrin, and look at my home gym for a few weeks until the soreness goes away. ? Part of me is wondering if my posture in my crappy home office chair isn't helping.

Bjornsson, who is 6ft 9in and weighs 452 lb (205 kg), won the World’s Strongest Man competition in 2018.

Oh fuck...here we go... :D

Speaking of banjos, the legendary Earl Scruggs along with comedian Steve Martin and others on the David Letterman show cutting loose with "Foggy Mountain Breakdown."

And the late, great Roy Clark (you might remember him from Hee Haw) Starting with the guitar, going to the banjo and then finishing on the fiddle with "Orange Blossom Special)

Awesome! Hadn't seen either before. But I have to call BS. That isn't Earl Scruggs. Looks like Fox News contributor Dr Marc Siegal.

They ran a series on the Apollo program last year that was pretty darn good.

Sprue Brothers is a pretty solid site for all your modeling needs...kits, glue, tools, paint, etc. I'm currently working on this F-4J (and have been for some time):

Very nice! If you are looking for a high quality ship model look here: https://sdmodelmakers.com. They do museum quality work but it does come at a price. A 24” DD model will run you just above $2000 but the accuracy is fantastic. There are others out there that will run you under $1000, but a good ship model is a heirloom piece.

Thanks for the info on the models. This may come as a shock, but I like old ships. Looking for some 1/350 scale of various classes. Battleships are easy to find and I certainly would like to complete the Missouri and the Arizona, but also a few cruisers, destroyers and destroyer escorts. My uncle survived a kamikaze attack aboard the USS Oberrender (DE-344) so that will be on the list to build.

Finally finished all of the bookcases and DVD cases. Next up is the wetbar. Not a big drinker so I don't need a lot: already have an old fashioned globe bar to hold the glasses and a few bottles. Since the room was already plumbed for water, we are putting in a whiskey barrel with a small bar sink. Was planning on going with a Jack Daniels barrel, but considering the room is to have a nautical feel to it, maybe a rum barrel? Will (hopefully) look something like this with a copper sink and faucet:

You inspired me to take a break from the phantom and look at some ships. Got two 1/700 USN WWII kits: USS TENNESSEE (BB-43) and USS PITTSBURGH (CA-72), both in MS32.

Just opened CA-72 this morning after finishing this week's iteration of distance learning.
