Q for the Docs

So a purely Hypothetical situation :watching_..

I went to my Checkin Physical today for advanced, and noted that I had no waivers, and a plate in my wrist.

Flight doc was surprised and stated 'all retained hardware needs a waiver'.

Is this true, because I jumped through an ass ton of hoops to get the go ahead prior to commissioning, and at API was told 'no waivers needed'. Primary Docs didn't say anthing either....

So whats true? Can you have a plate without a waiver?

Thanks for the help with this again.. ahem... hypothetical situation...:disguise_

From the waiver guide- "Retained hardware in the upper and lower extremities is NCD provided there has
been resolution of the underlying orthopedic problem, that the hardware is not subject to trauma,
is intact and in the intended location, and does not weaken the bony structure."
