Its because you'll be a Marine in a Navy unit. You'll wear the squadron patch.I dont get it, a VAQ patch? Is that because we're going navy or because we'll still be going to whidbey w/o the Marine unit there.
The squadron I jsut left started the transition a couple weeks ago. Pretty much the whole firehose thing, even though this is a group of CAT IIs. Lots of CBTs, lots of sims and flight side around week 4, unlike the Prowler side where it takes 4-6 months to get flight side. Many folks are flying 2x per day, so it's pretty fast & furious. First part is all basic proceedures to get the jet flying with tactics to follow later. I imagine the CAT I side takes slightly longer, but not much.Has there been any word from anyone on the syllabus at the Growler RAG? I've heard that they have had a few classes, and I wonder if anyone would mind sharing what they know. I imagine that it's quite different considering that the number of seats has been cut in half and the technology has been vastly improved.
