I would really appreciate some information from anyone who has undergone PRK and received a waiver in the last few months/years.
I went to MEPS last week and was asked to reschedule because I have not had a 6 months post-op eye exam. My recruiter assumed that my 4.5 months exam would be sufficient.
The sheet they gave me reads:
Waiver criteria for stable refraction - two cycloplegic refractions (eyes dilated) post surgery at least three months apart with no more than 0.50 changes in either eye.
Note 1: All evaluations noted above are mandatory and must be completed by the eye care professional.
Has anyone received a waiver who did not have their eyes dilated twice after surgery, or is this really mandatory?
Thanks for the info.
