Poignant CPO Ceremony

Twenty selectees from various San Diego area commands were pinned to the rank of chief petty officer during the ceremony. He's weeping because he found out during initiation that his life just became a lot harder. Or the tabasco from some fun times he and all his friends had the night before is still burning.....

All kidding aside, this is a huge moment and cumulation of years of hard work. Congrats to all the new CPO's, life just became more difficult but you are ready for it. A good friend of mine is in the NBC group.

And we probably SHOULD have a CPO thread on the website ... that's an oversight that should be addressed. And especially (personally) as there's more than 2 or 3 Navy Chiefs that kept my 'blue side up' and kept me safe. Without those gents, I would not be alive today ..

Even though there's 'NO CRYING IN NAVAL AVIATION' ... I feel for him ... and I think that's a GREAT picture.
