Pay at OCS

Do we get paid for going to OCS? And, if so, does it get dispersed to our spouses back at home or does it go into an account of some kind?

Yes.

Pay is on the 15th and last day of the month...I believe it is on the E-6 scale. Before you go to OCS you'll give them a voided check so you're pay can be direct deposited...that way you or your wife can withdraw if its a joint account. Hope that helps.

I was also told E-5, unless you are a nuke BDCP guy, then you get E-6

BTW, Nuke BDCP homos don't go to Quantico.

Thanks for the replies. What about benefits? My wife had to sign a spousal support statement and it said--"I understand I will not receive any benefits during the 10 weeks my spouse is at OCS." Does that mean no health insurance?

Only you qualify for healthcare while at OCS...once you are commissioned and go to TBS your family can go on Tricare.
