I found a report on the CNET website that proposed that the course of instruction at OCS be reduced from 13 weeks to 12 weeks. Does anyone have any information about this? The reason for this change is to save money.

I heard the same thing. I heard they're cutting out the seamanship rides and a couple of other things. When does this go into effect?

There is quite a bit of training at Navy OCS that could be cut. It's about time someone did something about it.

it could be done in eleven weeks. my class spent four weeks as candios, meaning we completed our training in 9 weeks. I wouldn't cut it any shorter than that, our schedule was pretty frantic. any less time would make it impossible without cutting legitimate training.
