Slappy...

I'll admit I watch Iron Eagle *prepping for shitstorm of neg rep* on the basis that it's hilarious as shit... Sooo many Regean-era 80s-isms for one movie...
Unnamed middle-eastern/North African country, Token Black guy friend, Fatass General w/ Texan accent spewing weird metaphors ("they got my tit in a wringer"), even the final showdown between the young hero and the villainous arab Colonel (with appropriate intros for both, just so they get to know eachother)... Me and my buds watch it for it's riff-ability factor... definitely needs a Rifftrack of its own...

It's one of those movies you watch strictly on the basis of how bad it was...
kinda like this one:

that's like me with top gun. I've been watching it my whole life, the dam movie is as old as I am. Still love watching it

I was just busting your balls; I've got time in the Traumahawk myself, and it's proof positive that's its possible to have not enough airplane for the job, even if that job is basic pilot training. It's too lightweight, and the T-tail means that if you hit turbulence, it doesn't fly, it "swims" . . .

no kidding, I love flying them, but when you hit a ruff patch you really feel it, took a friend up one time and hit a patch, she thought I was playing with the controls to screw around.

I watch it beause it's tomcat porn... not because it's bad... then again it's not particularly good (at least in terms of legitimate cinema and redeeming qualities) either... the magic of DVD allows me to just skip to the righteous flying sequences...

Why would you want to tour a squadron?...let's see...

1) Meet some of the hardest working 19-20 somethings (for too little pay)
2) Meet some of the 30-40 something Chiefs who make things work
3) Meet some of the JO's who are only a few years older than ej_laberteaux working living the dream
4) Climb up on the LEX and take a look and smell the "old car" smell
5) B.S. in the Ready Room and get a little bit of the feel for what it's like

FLY USMC, you're probably right, white boards and chairs is really what it's all about - it probably won't be worth it.

1) To see guys play volleyball in jeans and no shirt
2) Without question, seeing you walk around the shower with a small towel tightly wrapped around...is a must
3) Maybe confirm that the plaque is really in the ladies room?
4) Hear you guys call each other, "Dangerous!"

Et tu, Brute'?

Just kidding. We've been given a "make the push for getting the word out to the civilian side of the house for a few months now from the heavies.

We're undermanned, and when we're flying the squadron is pretty much a ghost town, but waayyyy back when, I would have liked the chance. Then again, maybe my "image" of what I thought it was like would have been burst had I gotten the chance.

That's why I also disagree with the VIP orientation flights we have been doing over the years. We flew Sting, Congressmen, staffers, press, etc. and I think more good could have been done if we flew "John or Jane Q. Public". They'd have been just as appreciative and you'd have a fan of the military for life (hopefully). Just take a look at the reception onboard the boat during Tiger Cruise...

um, nope not me. I fly tomahawks, low wing, t-tail, and not as easy to handle as a cessna.

That's like saying your bike with training wheels is harder to handle than a tricycle....:sleep_125

This coming from a guy who flies the mighty turboweenie...
