His name and possible religious affiliation isn't what bothers me, but I do not believe you sit in a church like that for twenty years and then have the reverand as a trusted campaign advisor and not know his views or affiliations. Remember, Reverand Wright travelled with Farrakhan, a radical Muslim who said blacks should kill whites and Jews, to see Qaddafi and also honored Farrakhan with a lifetime achievement award.

Gonna throw out that no matter who is elected in November, they will not cut NOLO off, even if 90% of the city were to be smashed.

I agree, 100%, that NOLO is a terrible location and I am tired of using everybody's money to rebuild a city that shouldn't be where it is. There's a lot of history there and it is a major city. No matter how many times it is struck by a storm, it will be rebuilt, logical or not.

I don't think that, but I wonder about him. Who you keep as company says a lot I think. He also is affiliated with Saul Alinsky and Frank Marshal Davis from my understanding.

Why is it silly? Most "blacks" in America are part white. Very few are "pure" blacks. Reverand Wright himself obviously has white in him. There is no law saying that to be prejudiced one must be 100% of their particular "race."

And I do look at the issues plenty and I agree that to win the election, people need to focus on the issues. I too don't want socialists running the country.

But I myself (and I feel many others) do not ignore it if the candidate is affiliated with some socialists and a radical-seeming minister or reverand or whatnot. I don't know why people are so quick to dismiss that. If you had a white Republican running whose minister of twenty years, who married he and his wife and whom he called a father-figure, had travelled to Germany to visit a Nazi with some, say, KKK guy who once said whites should kill blacks and Jews, and also gave that guy an award, I do not think the media and people would be so dismissive. People would question, and rightly, just what the hell kind of person keeps such a man as company.

Ask yourself, if you knew me personally and you knew that I had travelled with some KKK guy to Germany to meet some Nazis, would you continue to be my friend, or would you disassociate with me? If you remained my friend and then ran for political office, would you expect people to say, "I don't care who his 'friend' associated with..."
