HS-14 to San Diego???

Well at some point HS-14 will transition back to San Diego when Sierras and Romeos stand up in Japan. Its in the master aviation plan. I don't think it is supposed to happen for another 7 years or so.

The guy who told you that originally did know what he was talking about. He may not have known the details, but HSC-8 will be taking over in Japan and HS-14 will come back to San Diego to transition to the Sierra. I was told this would happen in 3-4 years, if that matters to you. It shouldn't have too much of an impact for guys coming out of HTs now.
