Not really. If anything, it's a tie breaker.
Thanks for the insight!

Passed the SPHR this morning. Going to spend the next couple of months getting this kit squared away. I kind of put it on the back burner until I took/passed the test.
@motleygunner do you already have your PHR or SPHR?
Thought I'd see if this thread had any signs of life... The board date is sneaking up on us. Any other applicants lurking out there?
my recruiter submitted my package already, just waiting until the board convenes.
Nice... Good luck! Do you have a PHR? Wondering what everyone else thought of that exam.

Who’s up?
This is my first time running up for this and its been a long process and now counting the days until results are released. If I don't get in this round I plan on getting more experience with leadership and more certifications.

limited leadership experience
My packet is submitted also... Snapshot of qualifications:
The Good:
18 years of management experience, including 5 years leading department of 200+ employees in current role
PHR Certification
Six Sigma Black Belt
MBA w/ 3.95 GPA
The Bad:
No prior military experience
Good luck to all, HR is incredibly difficult to get selected for even among highly qualified candidates (5-8% selection rate).
I believe I have a competitive packet and have confidence in my abilities, but given the nature of this board I have absolutely no expectations of being picked.
Can we combine our stats? Shoe in. Lol.
Impressive. I have low expectations and also have confidence in my abilities. My C.O. put in his Rec that I perform OIC duties when he can’t come in with outstanding results. We haven’t had an admin officer, so I️ have been doing the job for 3 yrs. I’m hoping doing the job I’d have as a JO would outweigh the MBA...plus I’m waiting for the 5 yrs of officer recruiting to pay off. Besides just going grey. Lol. Who did your interviews and how were they scored?
