I have a quick question. If I were to choose to fly helos, will I be able to choose either HSM or HSC, or is it one of those draw from a hat things?
I wouldn't care what I got if that is how we choose.
"Not HSM, eh? Are you sure? You could be great, you know. It's all here in your head. And HSM will help you on the way to greatness, there's no doubt about that. No? Well if you're sure, better be... FIRE SCOUT!"
This may be a dumb question, but what is the difference between the two, HSC and HSM, exactly and what are the major differences in what they do?
Internet my friend, internet.
Don't forget about HM. Numbers are small, but it's a possibility - don't want you to overlook our 53 bubbas.
Fact check:And don't forget VRC, either! Or will it be HRC? Oh my, the rice bowls have already begun! From the latest TPS NAVADMIN: "This will also be the first board where C-2 pilots are considered for the Rotary Wing syllabus at USNTPS with
follow-on orders as a CMV-22 test pilot at HX-21. Candidates selected for the CMV-22 syllabus will complete approximately 8 to 10 months of training [aka HTs] prior to starting USNTPS with a follow-on class."
...didn't the Marines learn this the hard way already or are those just old wives tales?
And another thing......didn't the Marines learn this the hard way already or are those just old wives tales?
A C-2/CMV-22 bubba in the RW syllabus at TPS doesn't steal a slot from an H-53/H-60 bubba.
On the operational side, I've heard HSC dudes argue that HSC should get the CMV-22, which I think is narrow-minded, and I believe has already been discussed here on AW.
