Hearing Loss While Sick?

I had to take a hearing test today and while I was still within the requirements for a naval aviator, I was much closer to the limits than I had been previously. I was at first worried and ready to toss my iPod in the trash, but thought perhaps that the common cold/flu that I'm experiencing might have had some effect. Any input as to whether or not this may be the case?

*Note: I've google'd the issue but didn't come up with anything conclusive.

Sinus inflamation will effect your hearing. Thats one of the reasons you go to an "Ear, Nose, and Throat" doctor, those areas are all related.

Yea, what he said. Your eustachian tube runs from your middle ear to inside the back of your throat. All that cold/flu junk plugs it up.
