[GUN] What is this weapon? MK-18 rifle?

What is this weapon? It is clearly an M-4 carbine with a Crane stock and RIS forearm with a Surefire mounted at 3 'oclock and a verticle foregrip mounted at 6 o'clock. An Aimpoint ML Comp red dot and Knights armament backup sight round out this weapon.

Yet, the engraving on the magwell clearly says "RIFLE MK-18- MOD 0 USN CRANE INDIANA"

The military makes up little subsets of weapons, especially in the M-16/M-4 models. Probably something they designated... hopefully someone with more knowledge can shed light on it.
