I know everyone and his brother wants to fly jets when they show up at API, and not everyone gets them. However, the more I think about it, the more I think flying choppers would be really fulfilling--more integration with ground forces, closer to the action, etc. However, I'm a little worried about what happens after my prime flying years.
I know in the Navy your career ladder doesn't go too high if you select choppers. There might be an admiral or two who flew choppers, but the truth of the matter is that all the CAGs and CBG admirals are from the jets pipeline, by and large. Is that the case in the Corps, as well? Will I make my chances of command significantly lower by showing an interest in helos initally?
Thanks in advance...
