Extra Degree: Help or Hurt?

Having a Master's degree, say an MBA or M.Eng...assuming you did well, is it going to help, hurt, or do absolutely nothing one way or the other?

help or hurt you in what context? I can't see how having a masters (in any context) could hurt you.

Oops. I meant for selection to a Navy OCS program, specifically aviation. I don't know, maybe they just want the guys fresh out of college?

As for helping, for example, I've heard that having an M.Eng can help out for NUPOC selection(and even paygrade?).
