Those "Right Spirit" commercials, and I would suppose the entire Right Spirit program, epitomize the idea of the useless, waste-of-time, well meaning ,but have zero chance of success, feel good programs that we've been seeing as of late. To wit, 101 Critical Days of Summer and Global War on Error.

Dude, if you watch AFN in Japan at all, you would know that it's "Z,Z,1,3". That's how all the cool people party!!

If you call it 0-0-1-3 it starts to sound just a little dorky and might not be as well recieved by our younger servicemembers.

Remember our new DoD motto, "If you hope hard enough that it will work , it will".

There are alternatives! Like reading and going to church! It's cool not to drink! My grandpops (Senior Chief) is rolling in his grave.

And while we're on this threadjack, would it kill them to film some new ones? Recorded after 1987, maybe? Not that the new ones are any better, but half those AFN commercials look like reruns of Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Oh, and Never Shake Your Baby.
