So there's that scene in a A Few Good Men where they argue about whether or not the Navy still hangs people from yardarms...

I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen anymore, but I was reading the memoirs of a family friend who was a Sundowner back during Vietnam and he talks about being put in hack.

Does that still happen?

I had a Skipper put in HACK once for an entire port call. I guess it should be HACQ since the acronym is short for; house arrest, confined to quarters.
