I was just about to leave for work this morning and decided to let the dogs out to pee/poo. Turned on the porch light, grabbed the flashlight (I wanted to clear the area of coyotes; my female has already killed two this year and I figured they might be back for revenge on my pup...he's only 4 months).
Swept the area and saw one...yelled and he only looked at me, blinking those little green targets from about 60 yards away. I yelled for the wife to toss me her .45. I put the light up again and there he was. Hold, squeeze...coyote down. I went over to him and he got up, so I shot him twice more, another one in the chest and one which darn near took his nose off...he was moving.
He was still alive...crap. Finished him off with a shovel. Two solid chest hits with 230 grain JHPs (Speer Gold Dots) and he is still around and moving.
Haven't seen anything like that in years.
