I'm arriving in Va Beach next week and so far my only lead for rentals is the Gifford Management Group (http://giffordmgmtgroup.com/?page=main). I called them today and was told they have "14 pages of rental listings" though I'm not very optimistic as to how many are actually in the Chick's Beach area.

Anyone have other suggestions? Is it worth driving around the area to see if there are any for rent by owner?

There are plenty of rentals, at least there were. I have not been there since I got off das boot.

Might be worth a driveby if you get House Hunting. You been here before?

I live off of Shore Dr, and some of my neighbors have listed their homes on militarybyowner.com. Also check out Craigslist for private landlords.
