I know it's never going to happen, but it would be nice to see some little rising suns painted beneath the canopies of those Hornets.

Have you been to Japan? That's fucked up.

I kinda think CVW-5 Hornet Squadrons would prefer to not to display those symbols taxiing around Atsugi Base. Probably give the JSDF guys a little heartburn! :icon_cryi

101105-N-2811A-186 PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 5, 2010) A T-45C Goshawk training aircraft taxis the flight deck before launch from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Goshawk has been painted in honor of the Navy Aviation Centennial in 2011. Nimitz is conducting training wing carrier qualifications off the coast of Southern California. Here's the TW-1 offering. I yoinked the pic from an old thread here. Yeah it's a flying bag of Skittles, and I'm back and forth on it, but I like it better than some other CoNA paint schemes I've seen. Would be real nice to have it as a bandit on a high aspect ACM flight. At least I'd be able to get a tally before I got shot.

Would LOVE to see a Hornet done as MINSI III.
The retro program is over, so it won't happen.

FLY NAVY,

Could have fooled me. From what I saw of Naval Aviation history, we started flying in 1911... then some things happened, not much though... we bought some new planes, but they were basically like the old planes just different kind of engines... and then we integrated the military and started allowing minorities to fly, and then later women, and THAT is when things got interesting. The first 60 years or so of Naval Aviation we really didn't do much.

You didn't happen to take this picture on Friday morning, did you?

Nope. Lifted it from the internets.

However, in a sea full of Nemos, Bruce sticks out like a sore thumb.

Oh well, I can keep on hoping. I flew it right past that exact spot twice on Friday morning. If the picture was from Friday, then it was probably after I hotseated it... and I gotta talk to my buddy about his hover taxi skid height, hahaha :)

As long as you flew by that spot, and didn't drive by it in a truck...with 100 in tow... :)
