That's pretty awesome. UAV or not, pretty 'star wars'-ish stuff there.

It'd be cool to see one that was completely controlled/maneuvered by thrust vectoring. Knowing these guys though, the 'think tank' is way ahead of me on that one.

Just like that part in "The Right Stuff" with the chimp... "A monkey's going to make the first flight" ... this time it's just a remote

Yup. Nothing new from BAE here.

Isn't the AV-8B pure reaction thrust for when the normal control surfaces are ineffective at low airspeeds? This mimics the function of a control surface by altering the airflow over the wing; should be more powerful as it redirects the lift vector.

Yes to your AV-8 question. Our wing/control surfaces loses effectiveness at about 40 kts or so and then it's all puffers from there. I need to reread the article the again.
