April 2014 SNA and NFO Board

Apologies for missing out but what's the entire point of this spreadsheet?

Not sure, but I think the point is so we can see who does/doesn't get selected and the person's stats on why they might have/not have been selected. It is however, a useless tool for determining your chances of being selected against others on the forum because it does not consider anything about the person except for their GPA and ASTB scores.

Another use for the spreadsheet besides what Jack pointed out, is that it gives us an idea of the number of people applying to the board. The Feb board had about 50 or so people on the spreadsheet before the board was held. Knowing the number of apps might help us better determine a possible board date. Besides that, it's just something we can look at while we patiently wait for a board date and, if I were to guess, I'm sure all of the other "type A's" appreciate the rack 'n' stack nature of the list.

It's probably a bit of a stretch to assume a spreadsheet on this site gives us any picture of the number of applicants. Statistically speaking of course, too much inferring....

If I remember correctly, I think someone from Feb board mentioned that about half of the total applicants were on AW spreadsheet? I could be wrong...

Hey,

I have a few questions for anyone who has already done their interview with the background investigator.

1.Were you asked the same questions you were asked in NASIS or more?
2. What did you take to the interview?

The investigator I spoke to said to compile a list of contacts but I wasn't given a number.
3. How many additional contacts were you asked to provide?

Any other pertinent information would be appreciated

Thanks

During your interview, the investigator will go over your SF86 line-by-line. Based on your responses, he/she may ask follow up questions. My investigation took about 3 hours and was mildly uncomfortable.

My investigator was very personable and kind, but the way the questions are worded kind of made it feel more like an interrogation. Try not to worry yourself. Just be respectful and answer the questions honestly and you will do just fine. Best of luck to you.

Dude, I have the lowest score on that sheet. I'm not too worried about it though. If I'm selected great, if I'm not oh well. I'm just glad a had the opportunity to apply and finally get an answer. Plus there are always alternative routes if you want to serve your country.

Actually, I do. 45/5/6/6. I will be retaking after the April board.

it's hit or miss based on your background. some don't get interviewed and some only go over the basics such as why do you interact with so n so who lives in Algeria or what were your parents doing in Saudi Arabia. if you have solid credit and not many variances from the norm it seems to fly by. for my initial clearance I never heard a word other than I got it. hoping maybe that will speed things up for the Navy clearance. TS is the one that can be a bitch...secret is just that...the government trusts you to keep a secret.

Just got back from the BI interview. "During your interview, the investigator will go over your SF86 line-by-line. Based on your responses, he/she may ask follow up questions." That was spot on. My interview only took 1 hr. It was simple and straight forward. The interviewer was very nice so there was no reason to be nervous. I didn't end up taking anything with me except my contact list and ID card. Have that handy and ready to go. Besides that I was told if she needed to do any further follow up questions she would call.

Nothing new. Last I was told was they were "expecting" a board in April. At least we are almost in the same month as a possible board date. I might be the only one, but this is exciting for me. We are getting closer...

Your definitely not the only one. Not an hour goes by in my daily life where I don't think about the board. I don't know about you but I have known I wanted to do this my entire life since I was like 5 years old. Very excited!

I'll probably text my OR next week and see if he's heard anything. I haven't talked to him since my packet reached PM.

Add me to the list of people that can barely contain myself. I swing between worry and excitement quite a bit. I'm getting somewhat naggy with my OR and Processor, or at least I'm afraid I am. I'm just excited as well as worrying about my 27th birthday that is coming up way too soon.
