Does anyone know of pilots getting their MBA's on their shore tour? And any additional details as far as attending classes during the day or night or online? Thanks

I'm curious as to the reason you are asking this; your profile says you will commission soon. Shouldn't you be worried about things like flight school, making it to the fleet and then moving on to your shore tour before you are concerned about when you could possibly take classes for an MBA?

You have some significant hurdles in front of you before you should be worried about taking classes during your shore duty...

Maybe he has some time off and is thinking of taking courses to get started if he won't have time to do it on the shore tour?

RHPF is correct mostly. I'm on IRR and am looking to prepare for the GMAT by taking a course and studying for a couple months since the test is good for 5 years. It's annoying whenever you get berated by asking simple questions on here.

Nothing wrong with that. Just realize that once you start your Navy adventure, grad school is going to take a back seat for a while.

If our answers frighten you, Creature, then you should cease asking scary questions

Creature,
good on you for thinking about it ahead of time, but you could be thinking of doing something more "productive" for your career with that time...go TAD for AMO school, go to jump school, do MCMAP (if you're a Marine, but you're not). Everyone above is slamming you because the timing of your question is a little off. If you have a PME requirement, do that.

Odds are good that you will not be on your shore tour within 5 years of commissioning, fwiw.

You're 'annoyed' ??? You know -- that's too fucking bad. We feel for you ...

Quit whining, Junior ... if you can't handle the criticism that you may receive HERE and elsewhere in the USN, go elsewhere.

Things are coming down the track straight for that bullseye painted on your forehead (I'll bet you can't even SEE it yet, can you ???) that will make your current 'concern' seem frivolous ...

If you have aspirations of being a pilot in the Navy, you should but your gradschool deisres on hold. There are opportunities down the road, but you will have 3 years of flight school and 3 years of a fleet tour to worry about before you can go to grad school. Then there are opportunities, but probably not the ones you're thinking about now. The military will pay for you to get one of their MBAs, but seriously doubt it would hold much weight on the outside world, other than being the assistant to the traveling secretary of some podunk company like wafflehouse. I don't even think you need a GMAT score to enroll in the military's program, and that should tell you all you need to know.

Good stuff, thanks.

If you think this is getting berated, then maybe you should look into another line of work....
