Let's see: this administration uttered not a peep when the people of Iran went into the streets last year to protest a sham election by a repressive regime that took our embassy, imprisoned our staff and has been a sworn enemy of the USA for over 30 years. Yet, when an ally & nation that signed & honored a peace treaty w/ Israel (against the wishes of all its arab neighbors) had its people go into the streets to protest a repressive regime, our president demands that Mubarak step down immediately and calls for liberty for the Egyptian people. Too bad he couldn't feel this passionately for the Iranian people. So, would such an administration purchase arms from companies partly-owned by the PRC? In my opinion, in a New York minute. There are principles involved here, but none that most of us think to be reasonable or honorable. JMHO.

P.S. I forgot to add that this is the same administration that provided, or has agreed to provide, British nuclear secrets to the Russians in consideration for signing the New START Treaty. Namely, they have agreed to provide the Russians unique identifying data for each Trident missile we have sold the UK for their nuclears boats. And they did this without consulting first w/ the British, of course. What wonderful friends we are & how quickly they trash the "Special Relationship" so many other Americans have died for over the past century.

A Chinese-built Marine One just sounds really, I don't know, insulting. It's not like America is some Third World country that has to purchase aircraft from other countries, it's the United States of America, maker of the F-22 Raptor, put a man on the moon, home of Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, etc...we don't need the Chinese, a Communist dictatorship, to make our Presidential helicopter for crying out loud.

Well we also used to be home companies like Hughes Aircraft, Grumman Ironworks, etc. And in case you haven't read the news, we aren't even going to bother putting men in space anymore much less on the moon. We are relying on China and Russia for that.

Well obviously NASA has far more important and relevant things to deal with than getting our astronauts back and forth from the ISS. Things like Middle East relations and global warming research... Maybe they can tell me when it'll comeback and get rid of these 8ft tall snowbanks in my yard! Ohhh wait, I'm an idiot, I forgot global warming is responsible for both hot and cold weather.

Dude, global warming was SOOO five years ago.

These days, the term is "Climate Change." Little less of a lie that way. (After all, the climate in San Diego changed from 30° to 75° every day last week.)

well, we buy everything else from China, why not?? Perhaps it's a ploy to prevent the Chinese from liquidating their ownership of the US and kill our economy more than we can do it ourselves. Besides, Al Gore got his Nobel for global warming and so did el jefe, for ???? so I think Dean is next-just because.

Well, considering we hold very considerable sway over the Egyptian government and military while we hod absolutely none over the Iranian regime, what more than a couple of statements could we have done with the Iranians? Sell them arms for hostages? Eh, another administration tried that, didn't work out too well from what I remember.

So, would such an administration purchase arms from companies partly-owned by the PRC? In my opinion, in a New York minute. There are principles involved here, but none that most of us think to be reasonable or honorable. JMHO.

It starts with berets and soon we will only be able to find our fix by buying helos and the feared J-20 'Black Eagle'. Those damn commies and their fluoride, they won't take my essence!
