You can also watch it in significantly higher quality on Netflix streaming.

Weird. I'm watching it on Netflix through the PS3 right now. The Ladykiller (my son) is sick so we have to skip ID activities with the gang.

I liked it so much that I've got it on DVD. Really seems to show the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of life on the boat.

Great series, I watched all 10 episodes this past weekend. It really does do a good job in showing the reality of carrier life from all perspectives (junior enlisted to executive commanders). And it makes me want to get this show on the road already!

So it only took 3 episodes for AO1/LPO/wanna be an officer/STRKGRU Sailor of the Quarter to ruin his career on the pier on Hong Kong.

I'm hooked.

Overall, I was not a fan of the series.

To me, it focused to much on the drama of a few that would drive ratings rather than the other few thousand people doing their jobs efficiently, correctly, and without issue.

Have to say I agree with EM1. I also thought the series would more aptly have been titled "AIR WING."

I would suspect most of the TV viewing public is more interested in the jerry springer drama that inevitably comes with cramming 5000 people from all walks of life in a 1000 x 200 floating box for 200+ days.

True, some of the stories from the enlisted personnel were pretty silly. However, I feel like it was one of the least "altered" documentary/series I've seen. Good for us non-priors who really don't know what to expect in the fleet.

Not so much, unless CVW-11 is only made of two hornet squadrons. I didn't hear one helo/prowler/hummer/COD guy give his opinion on anything.

That was the only aspect of it that annoyed me. The fact that they only focused on the hornet guys/gals didn't really say a whole lot about the airwing as a whole.
