The mod team has been fairly quick at targeting and removing spammers. Usually they just post in the forums, and that is it. Recently there has been a new type, that creates an account and waits a period of time, and then sends PMs to other users posing as an Admin/mod and informing ppl to click on a link. Basically setting you up for getting your computer infected with a trojan virus or other such mischief. I have been pretty good at getting in and deleting those accounts and PMs, but that is after they have been sent.
For those that love internet sluething, here is the IP address of this a-hole that keeps doing this: 212.117.165.179
Right now that IP address is blocked on the website, but he/she/it keeps changing their IP address.
So, moral of the story, don't click on suspicious links in PMs (duh)...
