The new PT gear sucks. I saw it at the exchange, and it just feels bad.

Nevermind they won't put a price tag on it.

I'm rollin to the PRT in Jean Shorts and a Iron Maiden shirt. Takes :30 off my run time.

That nasty shirt---stink it up once and wash it and it smells fresh and clean. Get ONE drop of sweat on it and it is like it never saw the inside of a washing machine before.

Our CMC had to put a disclaimer about the shirt out over email. It seems that if you get it wet or sweat a lot, it becomes pretty transparent, so if you are shy you might be wearing 2 shirts.

The lowest bidder strikes again! It's amazing how they always find a way to screw the military!

Why don't the just use the same shorts and shirt the Army used and change the colors and logos like the air force did with theirs.

It would've probably saved a lot of money in trying to find a suitable uniform design and those pt uniforms aren't uncomfortable.

The new AF PT gear had a lot of similar problems when it first came out with low-bid construction quality, normal size people needing to buy XXXL shorts to fit, etc.

On a similar note, does anyone know when NROTC units will start using/implementing the new PT gear? I keep hearing as early as Spring 2009 for my unit.

I had a sweet marlboro shirt on at the last PRT. I'm convinced it's how I ran under 10 minutes, for the first time in a long time.

Just have Under Armor or Nike make them but allow them to throw their logo all over it and say "official PT uniform of the Navy" on their TV spots, with of course Godsmack blasting in the background.

Un-oh, I just used logic.... oh no, they're coming through the window!!!!!

Nope, I was stashed before I classed up last week, and LT made us all come. He specficially mentioned stashes, and I saw the pool stash guys out there with us. We just went to our stash after PT.

Quarterdeck watch: Worst. Stash. Ever. I usually bitched about it since it didn't get me out of muster, was usually overnight, and couldn't understand why it wasn't just a duty passed around among the entire pool, as opposed to the 8 of us who stood it. It was, however, really good encouragement to get my flight physical knocked out and get into IFS asap, so maybe it served its purpose.

Old post but I had the stash duty back in 93/94 after tearing my knee up and having surgery. I had it for about 6 months and ended up writing the schedule every week. Funny how I often had the good nights off  It wasn't bad duty, could have been worse. As I recall, being part of the API stashed folks was worse but I don't remember any details as to way.

I'm tentatively signed up to report on 23 Jan. What's the wait for IFS looking like?
