What really sucks is that all you guys are watching this crap instead of working. Everyone here thinks they're gonna get picked up and are blowing off their real jobs posting useless crap on here. Now, if you don't get selected, you are gonna have 22+ days worth of work to catch up on

I know I am just the "wife" but this thread is thoroughly entertaining and does make the waiting less awful.
Airman V- If selected my husband will go to ODU. Can you tell me more to pass along to him? How much is the NROTC committment? Did you have to pay a lot out if pocket for books/tuition, etc? WHat do you like about ODU? I really appreciate it!!!

Committment depends on what company your husband would get placed into but PT a couple morning and drill on Thursdays. Taking classes at TCC is a great idea in order to keep the cost down and hopefully get some reimbursement for the books... it'll depend on how many classes he has to take each semester to graduate in the 3 years. ODU has a HUGE NROTC unit, so in some ways it's great because there are tons of contacts and funny stories, but on the other hand, the OCs can't just disappear into collegeville like at other colleges. It was nice not having to relocate though, and that's the main reason a lot of the OCs picked ODU. Many had there top pick somewhere on the other part of the country but choose Norfolk because of convenience...
