The greatest challenge for an actor

That.......would be the greatest challenge in Tom Cruise's career.
To equal the success of TOP GUN would be a 'mission impossible' so to speak.

If this was in "real time" (say 25 years after the 1st movie) wouldn't he be a very senior captain or even a 1-star by now?

Unless they want to make him a jaded CSI. THAT would be hilarious.

Tom Cruise is back as a very senile sim instructor. "Well back in the F-14 ..... we didn't have .... and we were better for it!"

Two words:

shirtless volleyball:D:thumbup_1

though, technically, I guess you'd have to call it topless volleyball.

I read somewhere that they planned on making a second Top Gun movie a few years after the first, using left over footage from the first movie, but they went back and discovered they had actually used up all of the footage in the original.

Is Hollywood capable of making a good sequal in this day and age of computer generated images and 'Stealth'-like quality?

My bets are on flop.

Hey Dark Knight was a good sequal. Now a good sequal after 20 years...I doubt it

Hmmm, 22 yrs after being a LT... I haven't seen many CAPT IPs...(unless you count the Commodore or other brass staff).

So, I guess they'll be featuring Hornets? With the way the airforce commandeered Transformers et al, I hope they don't try to slip anything into this flick!!

YES! Have him be a T-34 sim instructor in Corpus. I would definitely pay to see that movie. Always have him complain about the TACAN and VOR ID switches too loud and that the students never understand what he says even though he talks real quiet, yeah you know who I'm talking about...
