All the HMMs are becoming VMMs with the same number when they get Ospreys

The Hawaii -53D squadrons will go from HMH to VMM when they switch.

If it's confirmation then Shweet!

Interesting. The FY09 Aviation Plan listed 53D's transitioning to the 53K... Has something changed?
I just went back and looked through it and I think I got it cleared up because I thought the same thing. On one page of the plan it shows the V-22 replacing the 53Ds. Two pages later, it shows only replacing one 53D squadron. So I guess we'll have to wait till October for the new plan or ask Phrogdriver for his source...:D:D

Should've transitioned earlier :) You still get to keep your lineage, you just get some new helo smell, a new number, and a new letter. Everyone's getting at least 2/3.

Yeah, its no biggie. The S seems cool enough to be worth it so far.

From the little I've taken in about the S thus far, it seems it will do your laundry, blow you and fly itself all at the same time.

VERY glad I got Sierras instead of San Diego and another airframe like I thought I wanted before...

Look what I can do!!
I did a search but could not come up with what I'm looking for. I'm just curious, does CEFIP time contribute to ACIP once flight training begins after commissioning?

I am pretty certain it does not, you start from square one when you become an officer.

Sadly enough, no it does not carry over. Once you become an officer, you start all over at $125/mo.

Well, as an ex-HSL pilot, all sorts of stupid trivia like that was common on HAC boards, Instrument Checks, NVGI Checkrides, etc.

Hence why I can still recall from memory that it's a should not a shall. Now I will finish my pitcher of Iced Tea (unsweet) then go in and fly. Pretty sure this is over 450mg.. Oh well.

Yes, but I've heard from someone directly, in the HTs, that this question was asked in a brief (on their instrument checkride I think?). Seriously. If it was an O-3 IP, I'd have been tempted to ask "Sir, who the hell cares?"

HTs =/= real world.

Exactly. It's the schoolhouse. The IP is there to make sure you've been studying. There's not a real reason to know AVENUE F by memory, since everyone is required to fly w/ the pub that has it in it, but it's just another check in the box to get you to your wings.

No one can explain your weirdo east coast ways.

Hey, I'm no longer one of the tribe there. Last I checked your squadron was East Coast LAMPS there Gator :D

(Granted, FUBIJAR is probably heavily in effect)
